Empowering Young Minds
Throughout the state of Florida, Pine Hills is known as one of the poorest areas in the Sunshine State. In fact, according to statistics from the Census Reporter, around 35% of children in Pine Hills live in poverty. This lack of resources leads to academic challenges, with less than 15% of the population earning a bachelor’s degree or higher. I have made it my mission to help a selected group of children from the Pine Hills area get a head start in engineering. Using engaging LEGO motors, a group of four children will be taught how to use these LEGOs to create basic engineering machines. LEGOs have been proven to help children develop basic engineering principles and skills that can benefit them across various disciplines.
